Achilles Tendinopathy

Achilles Tendinopathy or Tendonitis relates to an injury to Achilles tendon. Inflammation, degeneration and damage of the Achilles tendon can result in increased pain during walking and exercise, and may prevent you from being able to participate in your favourite activities.

The Achilles tendon connects the calf muscles to the heel bone behind the ankle. Tightness in the calf muscles can cause the tendon to become over worked, and fatigued resulting in increased pain and thickening of the tendon. The team at Walk On Podiatry are able to provide a thorough assessment enabling them to diagnose your Achilles condition and develop an injury specific management plan and help you get back to exercising again.

There are going to be some feet that may present as a greater challenge than others. However, with the necessary adjustments and some fine tuning I still think it is possible to design and create an orthotic that provides comfort while providing efficient foot function. Read More...
